We are Third, needy and needed, serving Christ and others before ourselves.

That is a play on words. Third Church was the third church of our particular denomination in Zeeland, but today we are third in another, more important, way: we want to be a people who serve. We think of ourselves as needy. None of us has it all together. That part we have figured out! But we are also needed. God always uses flawed, broken people to do his great work of rescuing the world.

So we are both needy and needed. We aim to serve Christ and others before ourselves. So that makes us third.

That really is a great thing, because Jesus gives us what it takes to serve him and others. God uses us. He has done that in the past, he is doing it now, and he will keep on doing that.
